Mumbai Metro Line 3 (ongoing)

The Future of Infrastructure

AECOM is the lead General Consultant for the Consortium, MAPLE. It comprises AECOM, PADECO, LBG and Egis. The team is providing design and supervision consultancy for this 20.81-miles (33.5-kilometres) long metro facility, which is completely underground and joins Colaba – Bandra – SEEPZ in Mumbai.  It is one of the world's longest metro tunnelling projects with 27 metro stations.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 is expected to reduce the congestion on roads by nearly 15%. The present travel time of 100 minutes from Cuffe Parade to the airport will be reduced to only 50 minutes due to MML-3. Since the entire train will be air-conditioned, commuters will be able to travel more comfortably, free from noise/dust pollution. MML-3 is uniquely positioned to attract more business investments and is also expected to result in employment generation during and after construction.

The project commercial operation date is scheduled for June 2020 Dec 2021 (SEEPZ to BKC) and June 2022 (BKC to Colaba).
