Marina Bay and Greater Southern Waterfront (ongoing)

The Future of Infrastructure

Marina Bay, a 360-hectare district in Southern Singapore, was identified by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to seamlessly extend Singapore’s downtown district and further support the city-state’s continuing growth as a major business and financial hub in Asia. With its waterfront location and availability of unencumbered land, Marina Bay provides an opportunity to develop a unique business centre in a ‘city-in-a-garden’ setting. It will also be complemented by a full range of residential, shopping, dining, cultural, leisure and entertainment facilities as part of a total live-work-play environment.

The adjacent Greater Waterfront, covering Tanjong Pagar area with a land area about three times the size of Marina Bay, will include housing as well as commercial and entertainment facilities. New tourist attractions will also be developed to boost the tourism industry and anchor this precinct as the Southern Gateway of Asia.
